From the kitchen of Stephanie Knewasser.
Kids have an easier time eating shells than
fettuccine, but the sauce recipe is exactly the
same. My kids & all their friends love this. I
always have some sauce in the freezer for a
quick meal. Broccoli is a great side dish.
Alfredo sauce (freezes great!):
8 Tbsp butter
1/4 c heavy cream
1/2 c romano cheese
Cream butter until light & fluffy.
Beat in cream, a little at a time.
Gradually add cheese.
Set oven to 250.
Put alfredo sauce in ovenproof serving dish
(I use a 13x9 pyrex) & warm until melted.
Don't let brown.
Cook 1 box of shells,
according to directions.
Toss to coat cooked shells & alfredo sauce.
Season to taste with salt & pepper.
Sprinkle with more romano cheese.
Shells Alfredo: 1 batch Alfredo sauce & 1 lb small shells
