From the kitchen of Renee Barkwell-Wilson. This recipe
is from Hershey's. It can be found on the cocoa
container. It's rich, dense & delicious.
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease & flour 2 9" round baking pans.
Combine:
2 c sugar
1 3/4 c flour
3/4 c cocoa
1 1/2 tsp b. powder
1 1/2 tsp b. soda
1 tsp salt
Add:
2 eggs
1 c milk
1/2 c oil
2 tsp vanilla
Beat on med speed for 2 min.
Add:
1 c water, boiling
Batter will be THIN.
Pour into pans.
Bake @ 350 for 30-35 min.
Toothpick poked in center should come out clean.
Cool 10 min, remove from pans to racks.
Cool completely.
Good with any of the following frostings:
whipped cream frosting
chocolate frosting
buttercream frosting
For cupcakes, bake @ 350, 22-25 min
Makes 30 cupcakes.
These are topped with Decorating Frosting, piped on with
tip 32, and sprinkles. The toppers are made from
computer images, printed, cut & taped to toothpicks.
