From the kitchen of Christa Woodford. This was in the first Family
Cookbook.
Chop:
  1 head fresh broccoli
Put in a pot.

Add:
  2 large cans chicken broth
Cook for 25 minutes.
Scoop broccoli out & put in blender.
Blend well & put back into broth.
Sauté:
  1 stick butter
  1/2 onion, sliced
  3 Tbsp flour
Sauté until onions are cooked.  Add to broth.
Add:
  20 slices white American cheese
  2c half-n-half
Heat & stir until cheese is thoroughly melted.

Optional: Add fully cooked
small bow tie pasta after cheese
melts.
