Broccoli Pizza

From the kitchen of AnnMarie Barkwell

_______________________________________

As a young boy, Stevie had this at his friend's house. He liked it so much that he asked me to get the recipe.

Sprinkle pizza dough with sweet basil & garlic powder.

Blanch 1 box frozen chopped broccoli w/ sweet onion.

Spread ricotta mixture (ricotta, sugar) over dough.

Put broccoli on top of ricotta.

Top with mozzarella, parmesan & provolone.

Bake @ 425 for 12-15 minutes

Comments

Here's how I did it: Spread the pizza dough on a pizza stone coated with cornmeal. I think this would be better is the dough was brushed with a little melted butter at this point. Generously sprinkle with garlic powder & basil. Top with 3-4 slices torn provolone. Microwave 1 1/2 c broccoli (with water) for 1 minute. Drain. Cut into smaller pieces & put on pizza. In a bowl, mix 1/2 c ricotta with 1/4 tsp sugar. Drop little dabs all over pizza. Sprinkle with Romano. Top off with 1 c shredded mozzarella. It took 20 minutes for mine to turn golden. Next time, I'll use more ricotta. I didn't use onions, but should have. -Stephanie
